THIS was a much-needed win for Sunderland, which put the draw at Ipswich in a more positive light.
To come from behind and beat Portsmouth – expected to be promotion rivals again this season – was a huge lift to Wearside morale after draws in the first two matches. Pompey have now lost both away games.

The margins were extremely tight, Pompey taking the lead through Marcus Harness midway through the first half, but goals from Jordan Willis and Chris Maguire put them in front by half-time.
