SHAKERS IN RACE TO PRESERVE EFL STATUS

BATTLING Bury are optimistic they can avoid expulsion from the Football League over their ongoing financial problems.
The Shakers have been given until August 23 to show the EFL their plan to pay off outstanding creditors. Their first three games of the season have all been postponed.
In a statement on Friday, the League One club said: “As a club, we understand the frustration that our fans must be feeling due to recent events.
