Scruffy win was to be expected, says Clarke

A DELIGHTED Darrell Clarke was unfazed by the “scruffy” manner of Walsall’s away victory over Northampton.
Clarke made a winning start to life as Saddlers boss thanks to captain and summer signing James Clarke, who headed home the only goal of the game on 14 minutes.
“It was an ugly, scruffy 1-0,” admitted former Bristol Rovers manager Clarke.
“That’s textbook for the first game of the season, but we certainly won’t get carried away.
