■ MOMENTS before kick-off at Elland Road last weekend, I was joined in the gantry by an elderly chap with silver hair. He didn’t say much - just pulled up a rickety old chair purloined from some suite or other and proceeded to kick every ball, contest every decision and generally exhibit little of the impartiality customary in any press box.
