STALWART ERIK: IT WAS TOUGH CALL

DEPARTING AFC Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson has admitted it was “hard to let go” of the club he has run for the last 12 years, writes Chris Dunlavy.
Samuelson, 71, stepped up from his role as finance director in 2007 with the intention of bailing out once the Dons escaped Non-League. But he remained at the helm following promotion in 2011 to oversee a rise to League One and drive a return to the club’s spiritual home at Plough Lane.
