MIDFIELDER Elliott Whitehouse has set his sights on a pre-season comeback for Grimsby. The 25-year-old underwent surgery in July to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. He has yet to play for the Mariners as he sustained the injury shortly after moving from Lincoln.
Whitehouse said: “I’m feeling stronger, faster, more confident in myself. I’m just building up. I’m in a good place.
“Mentally you have to stick in there. If I can look towards pre-season, then hopefully – touch wood – next season is there for me.”
