YOU have to feel for Chris Powell, Darren Way, below and Stuart McCall, who all lost their jobs in the past week. Clearly, Southend, Yeovil and Scunthorpe are hoping for a bit of new-manager bounce as they battle to avoid the drop.
For me, though, this ‘bounce’ effect is the toss of a coin. For some clubs it will work. For others it won’t.
It depends on the squad. Some players just aren’t good enough, and you won’t get a tune out of them no matter who is in charge.
