PONTUS Jansson is the David Luiz of the Championship, only less skilful and significantly worse at free-kicks.
Four games out of five, the Swede is immense. Few central defenders in the division are better at dominating the skies above an 18-yard box, or pocketing a big, burly forward.
At Middlesbrough last weekend, he relished the tactics of Tony Pulis the way Ricky Hatton once welcomed a bruising, close-quarters scrap.
He even made Kalvin Phillips’ 100th-minute equaliser with a typically emphatic leap in the opposition area. Eight out of ten, job done.
