VETERAN O’NEILL CAN STILL MAKE HIS MARK…

RETURN: Martin O’Neill

IT says much about Martin O’Neill’s reduced cachet that his arrival at Nottingham Forest was overshadowed by a powerpoint presentation.
Even Forest fans are lukewarm. Recent posts at Sunderland and Ireland were also perceived as failures. Mainly, though, it is a suspicion that O’Neill, 66 and a veteran of three decades in management, belongs to a ‘dinosaur’ generation whose ideas have superseded by men like Klopp and Guardiola.
At the highest level, perhaps, that is justifi ed.
