GIBBONS HAPPY TO BE BACK

PORT Vale full-back James Gibbons is glad to put a frustrating month behind him after making a long-awaited return from injury.
The 20-year-old Trentham-born rightback has been out for six weeks with a hip problem, but is now focused on adding to the minutes he played in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy win over Middlesbrough U21s.
‘It’s good to be back in full training,’ he said.
‘I had a slight tear in my hip so I had a scan and then went to see a specialist to get a few injections, but it has all cleared now so I’m all right.’
