New era for Shrews blighted by Payne

MICHAEL Collins enjoyed a winning start as Bradford City head coach as Jack Payne’s goal sealed victory at Shrewsbury.
Midfielder Payne broke into the box to sweep home a low shot in the 19th minute after good approach play from George Miller.
Shrewsbury hit the bar twice in the second half through Josh Laurent and Alex Gilliead. Collins said: “I think to be honest the most important thing is that day one’s out of the way now.
Obviously, there’s a lot of euphoria around every club before the start of the season.
