WIGAN bolstered their squad on the eve of the season with the double signings of Darron Gibson and Cedric Kipre.
Gibson has penned a “short-term contract” following a successful trial, having been without a club since being sacked from Sunderland after a drink-driving offence.
The 30-year-old is currently serving a twoyear community order, but has impressed Latics boss Paul Cook during pre-season.
Cook said: “Darron is a talented footballer and is a good addition to our squad.”
