TAYLOR, 18 EARNS HIS PRO DEAL

SOUTHEND academy manager Ricky Duncan was delighted to see 18- year-old Taylor Curran sign a two-year professional contract this week.
Curran has shone for the Shrimpers’ U18s and U23s, scoring goals for both this season, resulting in him being offered his first pro deal.
“He is a hard worker and an all-round player,” said Duncan, who was Southend’s caretaker boss before Chris Powell’s appointment in January.
