GLENN Murray’s nomination for a Premier League player of the month award at the age of 34 is a testament to dogged persistence.
Murray was almost 28 before he kicked a ball in the Championship. His early years were an unglamorous slog through stints at Workington, Barrow and Carlisle.
Just reaching the Premier League was a dream and – by his own admission – Glenn always felt like an impostor at the highest level.
