DESPITE identifying Oli McBurnie as a transfer target in July, Barnsley ultimately failed to get their man on deadline day.
The 21-year-old striker was all set to move on loan from Swansea for some much-needed game time and both clubs announced the deal last week.
But a failure to get the paperwork done left the talented goalscorer with the Swans and Barnsley without a valuable player.
Tykes chief executive Gauthier Ganaye said: “Oli showed a huge desire to come and play for Barnsley, which can only be admired, and ultimately this decision will have the most impact on him...
