JACOBS’ RETURN CAN SIZZLE UP COOK’S TITLE BID

PAUL Cook knows that a fit and firing Michael Jacobs is vital to a Wigan promotion charge this season – so it is no surprise to see his delight at the winger’s return to form.
The 25-year-old netted just three times last season as the Latics limped out of the second tier, but he scored twice in the first three games this year in wins against Bury and Oldham.
The winger was instrumental in Wigan’s promotion two seasons ago by scoring ten times, and Cook admits it is a massive boost to see him rekindling that form.
