CHAMPIONSHIP
BARNSLEY have bolstered their defence by signing Matty Pearson from Accrington Stanley. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal, with a one-year option, for an undisclosed fee.
As well as his defensive duties, Pearson can also get on the scoresheet – he scored nine goals for Stanley last term.
Tykes boss Paul Heckingbottom said: “For a tall full-back, Matty has some exceptional qualities we feel we can work with and make better. He has heard everything we had to say and really bought into our ideas of what we want to do at the club.”
