CHESTERFIELD manager Gary Caldwell is thrilled to have brought Northern Irish midfielder Robbie Weir to the Proact Stadium.
Ex-Leyton Orient captain Weir, 28, was released following the O’s relegation from the EFL.
Scotsman Caldwell, 35, played against Weir in his Wigan days.
“I jumped at the chance to look at Robbie on trial after coming up against him when he was at Burton,” said Caldwell.
“He was always someone who impressed me with his quality. Since he’s been here, he’s been superb and we’re delighted to have got him.”
