COLCHESTER United youngster Milton Oni has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during the U’s 1-0 defeat to Brentford in the Carabao Cup last month.
The 18-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and tore his medial meniscus on his first senior start for the club.
“Football can be a cruel game,” said Colchester boss Danny Cowley. “He had a brilliant pre-season, his development accelerated at a rate of knots.
