Swindon Town face Tranmere Rovers at the County Ground on late Tuesday looking to secure a first win in six League Two games.

The Robins have lost two and drawn three matches since they last earned three points – against Bradford City on January 27.

They face a Tranmere side who have won just one and drawn one over that time.

With 57 goals in 34 games so far this season, Swindon are scoring more than average in the league with 1.7 goals per game. But they are conceding more than average too, letting in 61 goals at a rate of 1.8 per game.

Tranmere, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game. They have conceded 1.4 goals per game.

In the last 10 years, Swindon and Tranmere have played each other on eight occasions. They won three each, and they drew twice.

On average, the Robins scored 1.1 goals and Tranmere 1.4 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on December 23, when Tranmere won 2-1 at home.

In Daniel Kemp, Town have one of the league’s most on-form strikers so far this season. He has notched 17 goals in 35 appearances, to sit fourth in the scoring charts.

His goal rate of one every 176 minutes is quicker than that of Conner Jennings, Rovers’ top scorer with a goal every 264 minutes, and a total of 11 goals in 33 games.

The Robins are 18th in the table after 34 games, of which they have won 10 and drawn 10, earning 40 points.

The visitors are one place ahead of the home side in 17th, with 12 wins and four draws putting them on the same number of points.

Swindon’s last match was on Saturday, a 0-0 draw against Stockport County.

Tranmere lost 1-0 against Forest Green Rovers last time out, also on Saturday.

Tuesday’s match will be refereed by Martin Woods, who has taken charge of nine League Two games so far this season, issuing one red card and booking 34 players. He has awarded two penalties.

The last Tranmere game Woods refereed was the 1-0 loss at home against Wrexham on September 2. He is yet to oversee a match featuring Swindon this season.
