SIMPSON ABLE TO STOP THE ROT

Match Verdict
CARLISLE came into the match following back-toback league defeats and will be mightily relieved to stop the rot against a Tranmere side full of confidence.
Those two losses were preceded by a nine-match unbeaten run in League Two and the Cumbrians will now be hoping to put another sequence of good results together. Manager Paul Simpson will have been delighted with his team’s display, catching their opponents cold to take an early lead and handling the game superbly from then on to secure a much-needed three points.
