ROVERS SO CLOSE TO GLORY

FOREST Green moved within touching distance of promotion with a 2-0 home win against relegation-haunted Oldham. Regan Hendry and Jamille Matt both scored first-half goals to leave the Nailsworth club needing just one point to confirm promotion.
Second-placed Exeter suffered a 2-0 defeat at Tranmere. Josh Hawkes and Elliott Nevitt got the goals to revive Rovers’ play-off bid.
Third-placed Port Vale were also defeated, going down 3-1 at home against fifth-placed Bristol Rovers.
