ELLIOT Anderson is “growing into the shirt” at Bristol Rovers after a number of impressive performances.
Boss Joey Barton felt the teenage Newcastle midfielder was the “stand-out player on the pitch” in the Pirates’ midweek win over Colchester, grabbing the only goal of the game having also scored a superb solo effort against Harrogate last weekend.
Barton said of the 19-year-old: “Elliot has been brilliant for us from the first day we brought him in.
“He is growing into the shirt and his goal capped an outstanding display.”
