TOM’S RELIEVED TO BEAT COVID

PRESTON forward Tom Barkhuizen is thrilled to be back in action having been through a “rough couple of months” with Covid-19.
The 28-year-old had been absent since the opening Championship game of the season but, having recently returned to outdoor training, he was back on the pitch for the reserves in the Central League Cup win over Carlisle on Tuesday.
Barkhuizen, who played the full 90 minutes and scored the opening goal in the 5-0 victory, said: “I’ve had a rough couple of months with Covid and a few bits going on in my personal life, but it’s good to be back and nice to get my legs...
