Askey hails striker as Vale close on top six

JOHN Askey paid tribute to match winner David Amoo after the forward’s second- half goal secured Port Vale a valuable win against Leyton Orient.
Amoo’s strike saw Vale close the gap to the play-offs to three points and manager Askey pointed to the striker’s performance as the key to victory.
“David started the game really well and caused Orient some problems.” he said. “I am sure the goal will do his confidence good and, hopefully, he’ll get stronger as the season continues.
