Two-goal Pell puts Vale to the sword

JOHN McGREAL said his Colchester side had to dig deep but that he was proud of their display at lowly Port Vale. Harry Pell’s double inspired the promotion- chasers to an impressive victory.
The win at a rainsodden Vale Park sees the Essex side on the cusp of the automatic promotion places in the division, currently sitting in fourth, and McGreal says his players got their reward following the packed festive period.
