LEE Bowyer has praised Charlton’s academy after the midweek impact of Toby Stevenson in the Checkatrade Trophy.
The 18-year-old defender hit a hat-trick in the 8-0 win at Stevenage, and was just one of several youth products to impress. “It’s a credit to our academy,” said Bowyer.
“For the young lads, they wouldn’t have been able to play to that standard in pre-season. They’ve come on so much and learned so much.”
