AFTER the close of the permanent transfer window, plenty of clubs strengthened further with the use of the loan system – and these signings are starting to show their worth.
Middlesbrough’s George Saville, signed on loan from Millwall, scored on his first start in midweek in a 2-0 win over Bolton which saw Tony Pulis’ team rise to second in the table.
Pre-weekend, QPR hadn’t lost since bringing in Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells. Aston Villa brought in Tammy Abraham and Yannick Bolasie, two terrific, albeit expensive, high-quality loans. Both scored in the 2-0 midweek...
