NEIL Aspin was delighted to add “younger legs” to his Port Vale side following the double capture of Lewis Hardcastle and Ben Whitfield.
Midfielder Hardcastle, 20, arrived on a season-long loan from Blackburn on Thursday and was joined by winger Whitfield, 22, who signed a two-year contract after his deal at Bournemouth expired.
Aspin said: “With the two injuries we’ve had to midfield players and not having any younger legs in there, we needed to get somebody who would be younger and more energetic to get about the pitch.”
