MAGENNIS ON THE MARK

NOT many players can say they’ve scored against the world champions – but Charlton striker Josh Magennis can.
The 27-year-old headed home for Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifier against Germany on Thursday. But his injury time goal proved to be a mere consolation as the visitors won 3-1 in Belfast to book their place in next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Yet all is not lost for Northern Ireland. They have wrapped up second place in their group and go to Norway today looking to clinch a play-off place.
