Wycombe fall short in playoff push

THEY may have missed out on the play-offs but Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth refused to be downbeat, insisting a promotion push was very much on the agenda again for next season.
Starting the day in 11th and ninth respectively, it was always going to be a tough ask for either Wycombe or Cambridge United to make the play-offs.
In the end Scott Kashket’s second-half goal saw the two swap positions in the table with the Chairboys ultimately a point off extending their season.
