Burton Albion travel to Cheltenham Town on Saturday in League One.

The visitors come into the game on the back of a defeat in their last match, having lost to Carlisle United 1-0 at home.

The Robins also lost their last match, 2-0 against Wycombe Wanderers.

Cheltenham are 21st in the table after 33 games, of which they have won nine and drawn six, earning 33 points.

Burton are three places ahead of Town in 18th, with 10 wins and eight draws putting them on 38 points.

In the last five years, Cheltenham and Burton have played each other on four occasions. Burton won one of them and they drew the other.

On average, the Robins scored 0.5 goals and the Brewers 0.8 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on April 1, when they played out a 0-0 draw.

The Robins are in mixed form in League One, with three wins and a draw from their last six games.

With two wins and a draw over that period, Albion’s form is worse – they have taken seven points from 18, compared to the hosts’ 10.

With 28 goals in 33 games so far this season, Cheltenham are scoring at below the league average rate with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 45 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

The Brewers are also below average scorers, with 0.9 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have conceded 1.3 goals per game.

Saturday’s match will be refereed by Thomas Parsons, who has taken charge of six League One games so far this season, issuing one red card and booking 27 players. He has awarded one penalty.

He is yet to oversee a match featuring either Cheltenham or Burton this season.
