Match preview: Reading v Leyton Orient (Saturday, 3pm)

Leyton Orient visit Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday on the back of three consecutive wins in EFL League One.

Orient have picked up 13 points from their last six games, and they face a Royals side who also won their last match, and have collected 11 points from the last possible 18.

With 29 goals in 27 games so far this season, Orient are scoring at below the league average rate with 1.1 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 31 goals at a rate of 1.1 per game.

Reading, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game. They have conceded 1.6 goals per game.

The Royals are 18th in the table after 27 games, of which they have won eight and drawn six, earning 30 points.

The away side are seven places ahead of the hosts in 11th, with 10 wins and eight draws putting them on 38 points.

Reading’s last match was on Tuesday, a 1-0 win against Derby County, with Paul Omo Mukairu getting the goal for the Royals.

Orient beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 last time out, on January 20, with Daniel Agyei on the scoresheet.

Saturday’s match will be refereed by Graham Scott, who is taking charge of his first EFL League One game this season.

He is yet to oversee a match featuring either Reading or Orient this season.
