GEORGE Williams wants Cambridge to make themselves mathematically safe from relegation as soon as possible.
The U’s were 12 points above the drop zone heading into their game at Wimbledon yesterday to leave a scrap for survival unlikely, but the defender, 28, wants to be certain.
“We’re keen to finish strongly and set a benchmark,” he said. “If we can push beyond that 50-point mark, it sets a bar for next season. We can’t set that standard until we get those points on the board.”
