MICHAEL O’Neill was hailed as the saviour of Stoke City when he supplanted Nathan Jones in November 2019 and saved the Potters from relegation.
Now, with top-six hopes crumbling fast, many of those same supporters are calling for his head.
Since dropping out of the play-off places approaching mid-December, Stoke have been heading into depressingly familiar territory.
In the three seasons following relegation from the Premier League, the Potters have finished 16th, 15th and 14th. Heading into the weekend, they lay 15th again.
