‘VETERAN’ RICHARDS LOVING IT

DAVID Richards is relishing his role as a senior figure in the Crewe squad.
The Alex have a young team, with goalkeeper Richards currently marshalling the likes of 17-yearold defender Connor O’Riordan.
“I’m classed as one of the senior boys,” Richards, 28, said. “If I went to any other club I would be classed as middle of the road.
“I have to be a leader and I have to talk to the boys, I have to encourage them. I’ve got to keep on to everyone.
“It’s good for me as well as I’m learning the leadership role.”
