Alex earns boss Brian’s acclaim for Dale double

BRIAN Barry-Murphy hailed Rochdale’s two-goal hero Alex Newby after seeing his side pick up their first win in nine games.
Newby scored a goal in each half to claim the three points, with Barry- Murphy feeling his side had finally got what they deserved.
“Alex Newby is in his first season of League One football, having come from the Conference, yet he has been one of our most creative players,” he said.
“He caused Rovers a lot of problems and we created a number of good chances.
