Appleton slams elder Imps after late defeat

ANGRY Michael Appleton blamed his senior players after his Lincoln side were sunk by Sam Finley’s 95th-minute strike.
With a thrilling match heading for a draw, up popped sub Finley to stroke home the winner at the death to inflict a fifth defeat in six games on the Imps.
“There was some criminal defending at time by our senior players,” raged Appleton.
“We have made a lot of the young players coming in, but they have done well. It’s the senior players who, for the last six or seven games, have let the side down and it’s happened again.
