MATT Taylor’s anger at seeing his side surrender a narrow lead after bossing the fi rst half at Gresty Road was understandable.
As other sides have done already this term, Exeter came with a game plan to stifl e Crewe’s creative players. The likes of Charlie Kirk and Tommy Lowery have been key to the Railwaymen’s upward climb into second spot before the game. But neither winger nor midfi elder were given the necessary time or space to provide a spark.
