I HOPE I’m wrong, but Phillip Cocu looks to be going down the same lines at Derby as Ronald de Boer did at Crystal Palace.
De Boer took charge after I left Selhurst Park in 2017, but was sacked after losing four of his first five games.
In my experience, Dutch coaches are trained to play one way and one way only. It’s all about possession - and it just doesn’t work over here.
I’m not saying they aren’t great coaches.
I’m sure they’re very good at what they do.
