NEW AFC Wimbledon manager Wally Downes says he’ll be given the keys to a transfer warchest but is happy to trust the current crop of players in their relegation escape bid.
Downes faces an uphill task to secure the Dons’ place in the third tier for a fourth successive season.
Chief executive Erik Samuelson and the club’s board have reassured their new manager he will have the resources to draft in reinforcements but Downes is cautious of changing too quickly.
“There is some money to spend”, said the 57-yearold.
