GIVE GARETH THE CREDIT HE DESERVES

I DIDN’T watch England’s victory against Slovenia in midweek but I did read Friday’s papers and listen to media reaction on the radio and TV.
It was hard to believe that we had qualified with a game to spare.
In the end, the job of work was for Gareth Southgate to make sure that we went to next year’s World Cup finals. He and his team have delivered those goods.
It doesn’t matter now that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was poor on Thursday night or that Gareth was relegated with Middlesbrough. The job has been done and those responsible deserve congratulations.
