CAPOUE HEADS TO VILLAREAL

CHAMPIONSHIP
WATFORD will bid to return to the Premier League without the services of Etienne Capoue after the midfielder joined Spanish side Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old, who joined Watford from Tottenham for a then club-record transfer fee in 2015, has agreed a contract until June 2023 with the La Liga club. He made 181 appearances for Watford, including 11 during the current campaign.
A Watford statement read: “The Hornets thank Etienne for his efforts over the past five-and-a-half years and wish him well.”
