GILLINGHAM striker John Akinde believes ending their barren run came on the back of commitment and hard work.
The 31-year-old forward netted in the victory against Crewe which halted a run of five successive defeats in the division.
Akinde said: “We just knew if we keep doing what we’ve been doing results would change.
“We always believe, we’ve got a great bunch of lads.”
