PAUL BARRY has completed his takeover of Cambridge after the club’s other shareholders accepted an offer for their holdings.
Barry, a lifelong Cambridge fan now based in the US, was already the club’s majority shareholder and will convert his £1.3m of loans to the club into shares as well as paying an additional £600,000 to previous shareholders and committing to fund the club’s losses for at least five years.
Chairman Shaun Grady said: “This is an important moment for Cambridge and means ownership is in the hands of a lifelong fan.”
