BURTON Albion boss Nigel Clough has praised Lucas Akins’ versatility after the 29-year-old frontman slotted in at left-back against Barnsley in midweek.
The former Stevenage man played the first half up front in the 0-0 draw at Oakwell, but was unusually switched to left-back after Colin Daniel was subbed off with the threat of a second yellow card looming.
Akins has also played right-back and centrehalf this season and Clough said: “To go from centre-forward to left-back and perform as well as he did in both positions was incredible.”
