STRIKER Matty Stevens says he is ‘over the moon’ to have signed a contract extension with AFC Wimbledon until 2027.

The 27-yearold former Forest Green Rovers man has scored 21 goals in his first season for the Dons and wants to lead a promotion push in the final weeks of the campaign.

“I’ve always said since I got here that I’ve really enjoyed it and I think this extension underlines that,” he told the club website.

“The main thing now is to focus on matters on the pitch. Myself and my family are delighted to get this agreement done.

“The fans, staff and players have made me feel so comfortable here – they all played a big role in my decision.

DEAL: Matty Stevens

“Now we have to come together to get us over the line and back into League One.”

AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson believes top scorer Stevens fully merits his extended deal.

He added: “I’m delighted to see Matty commit his future to the club. He’s been a mainstay in the team and scored lots of goals. He gives everything for the badge every time he steps on the pitch.”
