POSITIVE: Muslic

Plymouth Argyle manager Miron Muslic praised his side for keeping a first clean sheet in the league under him and only the Devon club’s third in the Championship this season after a goalless draw to Watford.

The Pilgrims earned a point at Vicarage Road as they continue to cling onto the fight for survival in the Championship.

Plymouth have picked up four points in their last three matches.

However, they are still chained to the bottom of the league with seven games left in the season.

Efficiency

After the game, Muslic said: “We were almost perfect in the first half in not allowing Watford a shot on target.

“And they are a very good team with a fantastic home record, so it’s not easy to keep them out.

“The next step is to reward ourselves with goals.

“We created so many good things due to good structure.

“We had a lot of opportunities, but we needed to be a bit calmer and show more efficiency.

“If we had given Watford the same chances that we had, I think they would have taken them.”

Muslic admitted that Championship survival is becoming more difficult after just one victory in their past eight league games.

Positive

He added: “It is always up to us to win our games, and the key is to get that first win.

“A point is a small step forward, but we will take it.

“We have to move on.

I’m positive [that] if we can keep our structure like we did today, we should be able to reward ourselves in the matches to come.

“I’m still very optimistic and positive; it’s my job.

“Imagine me with my head down, not positive and not leading the team.

“We can’t rely on the teams above us and the mistakes of others.

“We have to be there to perform.”
