Matt Bloomfield had great pride in his Luton Town players after they grabbed a point in a goalless draw against Middlesbrough as they continue their battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Luton should have had the game wrapped up by half-time as they overran their play-off chasing opposition.

Instead, both sides were forced to settle for a point apiece at Kenilworth Road.

Despite failing to cash in on their chances, Bloomfield was in good spirits afterwards.

Pleased

He said: “I’m pleased with the attitude and the mentality, and the way we had to adapt in the game.

“We thought we could have been a little bit more effective going forward if I’m honest.

“I thought some of the football we played, the chance creation, we put pressure on our opposition.

“They are top opposition, and I thought the boys were excellent, especially first half.

“It was never going to be easy to replicate that in the second half because of how dominant we were, but I feel incredibly disappointed that I’m not sat here with three points.

“We created numerous opportunities to win the game, and on another day we probably take two, three or four of them.

“Some of the football we played was outstanding.

“We had spoken about how to break our opposition down and the boys implemented it.

“We’re playing against some real top teams and having a right go.

“I’m so proud of the way they do it.”
