BACK in August, Richie Wellens claimed in these pages that his achievements in management merited a shot at the Championship.
This was a bold assertion for two reasons. One, because the chairman of his current club Leyton Orient was standing in the same room.
Two, because the O’s were -at that stage -rock bottom of League One without a point to their name.
Fast forward a few months and suddenly the 44-year-old doesn’t look so deluded.
